Track and Accessories

Walkway Crossings.

With the different events held through out the year in the park, we felt some "crowd herding" was in order. Several walkways are being installed across the tracks to help shepard people in the right direction and to let them cross the rails safely.

Rail Yard Lighting.

In an effort to facilitate night running, several lighting projects are being planned. This is the pilot project for the back corner of the shop. This corner is completely dark at night and we felt with the new mainline going in closer to the shop, a light would make night running more enjoyable and safer. This light was scratch built by volunteer Doug Corry and several more are being planned for various other locales around the layout.

Rail Yard/Main Line upgrade.

This was a long time coming and very needed. The yard is being completely dismantled and put back together in a much better, functional way. Thanks to previous owner and long time Little Toot Railroad Company friend, Jim Adams, for some of the design layout concepts. The new layout features a turn out around mile post #8 and a long parallel run with a passing siding (the old main line). The new main will come into the station around the main shops. The yard is complete. The new main line is about 50% complete.

Block Signal Addition

This was a quick little project to add a little detail and functionality to the layout. More additions are being planned for signaling.

The block signal was roughly patterned after a Galon Borders design from the 1960's.
The signal is located past the depot and water tower as the siding joins the main line.
Amber and Green: Proceed with caution.
